There are so many different baby products out there today. It’s difficult to know what’s going to work for you and what’s going to be waste of money. I bought the co-sleeper whilst pregnant but the rest I have purchased along the way. I WISH I knew about some of them earlier. That’s the thing with baby products you kind of have to learn by trial and error. My son Albie is only 4 months old but these are just a small collection of items that I have found to be great and would use again and again.
The first product is a wooden baby gym from Ikea called LEKA. This gym has a lovely variety of colours and three hanging toys. It also has spinning shapes on the sides. Albie likes to spin the shapes and he gets very excited about it. It also helps with him trying to roll as they are on the ends so he has to reach over to spin them. It is a nice size and not too big and bulky. It could easily fit in the boot of a car to be taken if going away anywhere. I also like to hang ribbon with different toys on that Albie can swipe at . It has a lovely look about it and looks like an old fashioned wooden toy which I LOVE.

The second set of products are the Lansinoh earth friendly baby range in the lavender scent. I have the bubble bath, shampoo& bodywash, body lotion and massage oil. They are all organic so kind to skin, they are 99% all natural and they also smell really nice too. They leave Albie smelling really fresh. I like the way the shampoo is the same product as the body wash so bath time is a lot easier with only using one bottle for both. the lotion leaves his skin really soft and the massage oil I use once in a while and give Albie a baby massage which he really enjoys

Another of my favourite baby items especially as Albie now wants to put EVERYTHING in his mouth are these two teething toys, Sophie the giraffe and the oball. Sophie the giraffe is super soft and is made from the sap of the hevea tree. (ooh lala) This smaller version of Sophie is great for Albie as he can easily grasp it and shove it in his mouth which he does a lot and poor Sophie gets slobbered on…nice. I’m sure when he is older we will upgrade to the original Sopie as he will be able to hold it much better then. The second toy is the oball. The oball this was the first toy that Albie could hold as its is so easy for babies to to grasp as soon as they can make a fist. It is made of silicone and is nice and flexible. It is also latex free.

Now this is not just a baby product, this is coconut oil. It is brilliant stuff. I used this on Albie’s head when he was new born before I gave him a bath as he was getting some scales on his scalp. I would rub a small amount gently on his scalp with a dry sponge in a clockwise direction. then I would wash his hair with his shampoo as normal. It lifted every scale and his head was left all silky smooth. I highly recommend it as it is so natural and pure. I now use it on his face too as a moisturiser.
This is something that I wish I had had when Albie was a newborn as it has helped me so much. He struggled to nap nap in the day anywhere but on me for a while so I would pop him in here and I was able to get some work done around the house and eat etc. It is also good for going on walks. He faces inwards and is carried on the front. The sling is really useful for travel, as it means both hands are free and baby is secure . We went to a wedding when he was 3 months old in Northern Ireland and my husband put him in the sling so we could dance and he fell asleep instantly. He slept soundly even with a roaring band, for quite a few hours too.
Last and by no means least is the Snuzpod co-sleeper by the little Green Sheep. As you see from the picture on the left this attaches to your bed, with clips that go under your mattress. This provides a safe place for your baby to sleep whilst still having them right next to you. As I breastfed for the first 3 months this was so useful just having Albie right next to me to do night feeds. The one side zips up and it can become a free standing bassinet that rocks. there is storage underneath which I haven’t actually used but more storage is always good. there are a few different colours and mattress types to choose from. The top part of the bassinet easily detaches from the legs so it can be taken to other parts of the house if needed. Its so sturdy and something that will last a long time. Albie will stay in here until he is 6 months old.
