The boys and I have recently started going to a new group called Reading Fairy. The Classes are designed for 1 to 5 year olds that centre around the importance of reading in early development. The boys and I have always enjoyed reading and sharing books together so when I heard of this class I was really excited to go along. We weren’t disappointed!! The classes are so interactive and exciting. The children are kept engaged throughout as there is so much to do. The children dress up, play with bubbles, dance, sing along to nursery rhymes and much more. We learn about a different letter of the alphabet each week and it’s phonetic sound. The setting is so bright and colourful perfect for little ones to want to engage and learn. Charlotte really keeps the children interested and entertained with all the different props and activities.
There are five special characters that come to life in Reading fairy. They each have their own song and the children are able to interact with the gang. There are sounds to hear with Chat Cat, A new letter of the alphabet introduced by Phonic Fox, singing and dancing with musical instruments with music mouse, snuggling down with a book with Book Bear all with a sprinkling of fairy dust by reading Fairy herself.
Albie is particularly enjoying the classes and points out the letters of the alphabet everywhere we go. He enjoys working on his letter sounds in class and getting his gold stars. The children are encouraged to learn the letter that starts their name at the beginning of every class and Albie is always so eager to show the A for Albie on his flashcard. He is soaking up so much from the group and I have seen a huge difference in his ability to recognise letters and sounds since he has been coming to Reading Fairy. Finley is also loving the classes, he enjoys interacting with the characters, playing dress up and of course bubbles.
